Music Video

Below I have presented the first cut of our music video. We established that doing a second cut will definitely boost the quality of it, which is why we decided to undergo audience feedback, in order to find out from our target audience what in particular, we should alter. Some of the things they noted was how there were many unrelated objects in the background of the rotating scene. We took this criticism constructively and came to an agreement that our mise-en-scene in that scene needs to be improved. Also mentioned, was the fact that it was quite hard to establish we were a girl group in the beginning of our music video.

First Cut

We gained a mixture of qualitative and quantitative data, through interviews and questionnaires. Our questionnaires consist of closed questions where we have provided a series of fixed answers in order to make our answers easy to analyse. We also have a series of open questions in our interview to gain in-depth responses on our target audience's thoughts and feelings towards our music video. This will help us to improve our music video, as we will then know what our target audience like to see, as well as an interactive way of showing our progress.

Final Cut

From our results, we gathered that our music video appealed to our target audience greatly. We gained knowledge in what areas we should develop further in our music video, for instance close care on our mise-en-scene in our rotating scene, eliminate the moving motorcycle at the end of the video as it may cause a distraction, and increase the number/speed of cuts in our chorus. Our audience feedback definitely helped us to increase the level of progress of our music video, which is why many professionals stress the importance of it.
